Bokeh is the out-of-focus spots in the background (usually) of an image. Getting bokeh can be achieved by using a large aperture, getting further away from your subject and increasing the distance between your subject and the background. By decreasing the depth of field, the background of the image will have unfocused areas. Using a fast, long lens will give the best bokeh effect.
